چکیده
Additive manufacturing (AM) has gained high research interests in the past but comes with some drawbacks, such as difficulty to do in-situ quality monitoring. In this paper, deep learning is used on electron-optical images taken during Electron Beam Melting (EBM) process classify of AM layers achieve automatized assessment. A comparative study several mainstream Convolutional Neural Networks been conducted. The classification accuracy up 95 %, which demonstrates great potential support in-process layer control EBM.And error analysis shown that human misclassification were correctly classified by Networks.

متن کاملProtein and Lactose Separation by Modified Ultrafiltration Membrane using Layer by Layer Technique
Layer-by-Layer (LbL) is a method which can be used for nanoscale coating and surface functionalization of a material. LbL technique mainly uses the electrostatic attracting between charged materials (polyelectrolytes, nanoparticles, etc.) and an oppositely charged surface. In this study, protein separation (BSA) from lactose solution was carried out using the LbL self-assembly method, which was...
متن کاملTowards Security of Additive Layer Manufacturing
Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM), also broadly known as 3D printing, is a new technology to produce 3D objects. As an opposite approach to the conventional subtractive manufacturing process, 3D objects are created by adding thin material layers over layers. Until recently, they have been used, mainly, for plastic models. However, the technology has evolved making it possible to use high-quali...
متن کاملShape Optimization of a Layer by Layer Mechanical Constraint for Additive Manufacturing
The purpose of this note is to introduce a new functional of the domain, to be used in shape optimization problems as a means to enforce the constructibility of shapes by additive manufacturing processes. This functional aggregates the self-weights of all the intermediate structures of the shape appearing in the course of its layer by layer assembly. Its mathematical analysis is outlined and an...
متن کاملIn situ adhesion measurements utilizing layer-by-layer functionalized surfaces.
The adhesion between poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) hemispheres coated with layer-by-layer (LbL) assemblies of polyelectrolytes and rigid, planar substrates was investigated using Johnson, Kendall, and Roberts (JKR) contact mechanics. Measurements were performed against amine-functionalized glass slides both in air and in aqueous solutions of controlled pH. Despite the increased density of negat...
